Administrator's Message
As you know by now, everyone had a wonderful time at the Annual Super
Building Fund Party. The food was great and Bob Bull did a spectacular
job this year.
Our Annual Pig Roast is quickly approaching and is scheduled for March
29th at Reddy Park on Lake Tarpon. Tickets are on sale now and are going
fast - as they did last year. There is going to be a limited amount this
year so purchase your tickets as early as possible. Once we have an
accurate count we can start purchasing the food for the event. The
tickets will not be available at the park, so purchase them at the
Lodge.
In the next few weeks we will be accepting names for nomination as
Officers for the Calendar year 2008-2009. Nomination forms will be at
the Lodge and will be handed out by the duty bartender or officer of the
Lodge. If you are interested in the betterment of the Lodge, please
submit your names for nomination. The General
Election will be held at the last meeting of the Lodge in April of this
fiscal year. New officers will take over their duties on May 1, 2008.
Again, I cannot stress the importance of volunteerism. Without you this
Lodge would have a difficult road to maneuver and we would have exit
signs everywhere. As your Administrator I thank each and everyone one of
you who help and support this Lodge and Chapter of Palm Harbor Moose.
Fraternally yours,
Richard C. Maciuba

Governor's Gavel
Where has the year gone? It seems like just last month I became the
Governor of the Lodge. This past year has seen some high notes and some
low ones. Some of the high notes have been our 25th Anniversary, the
Fourth of July Party, and the State allowing instant bingo. Some of the
low notes have been the passing of some very
good friends and the moving of some others.
I would like to thank all of the members who have performed work around
the Lodge, and I would like to especially thank Jack Beal and Richard
Sheply. Nothing gets done at the Lodge with out volunteers. We have a
great bunch of people doing things around here, but we could and will
need more. I will tell you
this, it does get tiring having the same people doing everything all of
the time. If you want to put on a dinner or
help with something around the Lodge, please let someone know.
Let us not forget our vow we all took when we joined the Lodge. We all
vowed to support and protect Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Granted a
portion of our dues do go there, but sometimes they need more. If you
have seen the jug in the Lodge for “Gimme Five,” you know what I am
talking about. The “Gimme “Five jug in the Lodge is to raise money for
this program by the Lodge. It does not count for the individual member’s
obligation. Please see the front table for more information on the
Program. Your total five-year commitment is only $182.50...only $36.50 a
year... only 70 cents a week...only 10 cents a day.
Fraternally Yours,
John Holbach — Governor

BINGO RETURNS ON
TUESDAY
SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2007

Ladies
Well my year as senior regent is nearly over and I want to thank
all who have helped me do my job. Believe me, without the
ladies on our board it would have been nearly impossible for me to
fulfill my requirements. As a WOTM you should applaud
these ladies for all the hard work they do and all the time they put in
each day. From the bottom of my heart - Thank You!
Ok I know I say this is every article I write, but I’m hoping to get
through to at least a few of you out there. We need help, we
need fresh ideas, and we need more participation at the meetings. We
cannot constantly expect our board members to do all the work for all
145 women we have in our chapter. We all joined for a common goal - to
help our community, Mooseheart
children and Moosehaven residents — at least that’s what we should have
joined for. Yes, we have a lot of fun in the social
quarter’s week in and week out but there are other things we as members
need to keep in mind. Mooseheart has certain
standards that we are required to meet to continue to keep our chapter
alive and kicking and to be honest if it wasn’t for a
handful of members doing over and above what they have to do I think we
would be in a little bit of trouble. I hear it every
month “if you need help let me know.” Well, guess what - we need help.
Come to meetings give us your input and your help.
Think back to the day you joined and how proud you were and how proud
you should still be to be a WOTM. Help us continue our success!
Upcoming events
March 8th — WOTM St. Patty’s day dinner — what’s better than corn beef,
ham, cabbage and all the fixins! Rose Patterson is chairing this event
and it’s sure to be a fun night with raffles and a band. Get you tickets
now! March 29th our Annual Pig Roast — this is great day to come meet
new people and enjoy a great time at the park on the water! Tickets on
sale behind the bar. March 30th — Florida Days at Moose haven — if
you have never been there please take the day to go see Moosehaven. I
will assure you, you will not be disappointed.
April ~ 0th — WOTM monthly dinner — not exactly sure what we are doing
yet but please keep your eyes posted for info.
As I stated earlier — this year is nearly over and it’s time to elect a
new Board to help guide the WOTM. If you are interested, please let us
know. There are also forms on the table by the front door to fill out.
Thank you for your friendship,
Kim Holbach

they will check the list.
